Monkeys in a room experiment v2

Thought of a story I would like to explore further, eventually:

How about making a twist to that famous story about monkeys in a room with a ladder in the center, hole in the center of the ceiling, and some bananas hanging on there?

The usual story goes something about monkeys trying to get the bananas, an beings showered with a water hose.

Then monkeys being replaced one by one, and letting the old monkeys to “teach” the new one not to climb the ladder, to avoid being showered.

The twist here would be, what if we describe the people outside that room? What if there was just a bunch of them that conducted the bananas experiment, and then at some point they leave?

Now the scenario would be; monkeys that don’t know why they shouldn’t climb the ladder, plus, people outside the room that doesn’t know why they need to put bananas on top of the ladder.
